What
is Rotary...
Rotary
is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that
provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in
all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. Approximately
1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 31,000 Rotary clubs located
in 166 countries.
Rotarians
are business and professional leaders who take an active role in their
communities while greatly enriching their personal and professional
lives. A Rotary club contains a diverse group of professional leaders
from the community that the club serves.
Membership
in a Rotary club offers a number of benefits:
- Effecting
change within the community.
- Developing
leadership skills.
- Gaining
an understanding of, and having an impact on international humanitrarian
issues.
- Developing
relatrionships with community and business leaders
- Through
Rotary's service programs, a Rotary club can have a significant effect
on the quality of life in its community.
Rotary
is not an exclusive club, but to protect the pure interests of Rotary
and to avoid those out to exploit the purposes of Rotary, Rotary membership
is by invitation only. If you would like to learn more about Rotary
and its various service projects, contact
us or come out to one of our meetings (check
the newsletter).

The
Four Way Test
(of
the things we think, say, and do)
- Is it the TRUTH?
- Is it FAIR
to all concerned?
- Will it build GOODWILL
and better FRIENDSHIPS?
- Will it be BENEFICIAL
to all concerned?

About Rotary
International...
The original Rotary
Club was organized in Chicago in February 1905, by Paul Harris, and
attorney.
The name "Rotary"
was chosen because the club met in rotation at each member's place of
business.
From the beginning,
the Rotary ideals of friendship, fellowship and service to others have
spread worldwide.
The Rotary Foundation
has developed over the years into the largest foundation of its kind,
establishing, financing and supporting charitable causes throughout
the world. The eradication of Polio has been one such focus of the Foundation.
